This is a solution we came up with when we recently relocated to an apartment for the first time in over 20 years. We enjoy apartment living, but forgot how plain the ceiling lighting can be. Since we're trying to save money and not remodel someone else's abode, we needed an easy and temporary cure for the un-attractive ceiling fixtures. See what we did and how we did it below in the gallery... We wanted something that was light weight and we didn't want to spend money replacing our apartments lighting fixture, so we found this great, contemporary metal bowl at Sam's Club online and had it shipped to our door for under $10. Once it arrived we simply used floral wire to attach the light-weight bowl to the 3 existing screws on our ceiling fixture, these are the 3 screws used to secure the glass bowl to the original fixture. You're done!
