For this project you'll need:

• one clear Ikea Motto Glas 9.5" dinner plate
• one sheet of clear inkjet water-slide decal paper
• a can of Krylon crystal clear acrylic spray
• one small container of craft paint in your choice of color .

 

 

Decide on the size and shape of your design. To prevent wasting a sheet of decal paper,

we printed a "test design" on plain white paper, you can see this in one of the gallery images. Before you print your final design onto the decal paper remember to reverse the image (for this particular project)

1. Print out your decal - These decals deliver Razor Sharp Precision Graphics.
2. Spray 3 coats of Krylon clear acrylic finish, drying between coats
   
3. Using scissors, trim around the decal design and apply it to the back of the glass plate following the instructions included with the decal paper
4. Allow the decal to dry overnight
5. Paint the back of the clear glass plate, covering the plate and the decal with approximately 4-5 coats, depending on your particular color
6. Allow to completely dry before spraying the back of the plate again with the Krylon clear acrylic finish.

Display your new plate on an easel or onn the wall with a plate hanger. It goes without saying that the top of the plate remains glass and will not scratch. The plate should be considered decorative only and cleaned with a damp cloth.
